WARRANTY

Very few classic car dealers offer an insurance backed warranty for cars over ten years old. This is simply because very few warranty products exist for these cars and the ones that do are prohibitively expensive to take out.

We take great care in sourcing our cars and they have a rigorous inspection and test drive before they are prepared for sale. If a service hasn’t been carried out recently we service the cars using our long established contacts within the industry. We prefer to use marque specialists where appropriate, who have a very good reputation. A fresh MOT will also be issued if there is less than 6 months remaining on the old one.

We are dealing with mechanical objects that are in some cases over 30 years old and even though we are thorough in our preparation occasionally issues will arise. In this unlikely event P.R.A. Classic Cars will provide the following.

The warranty will be provided on all cars owned by P.R.A. Classic Cars and is not implied or given on commission sales. If the negotiated price is below the original asking price we reserve the right to withdraw the warranty at point of purchase. We would of course make this clear at the point of negotiation.

The warranty offers cover for 90 days from the invoiced date of purchase. The maximum total claim value excluding VAT is £500. This covers both parts and labour and is the total claim liability covered by P.R.A. Classic Cars Ltd over the 90 day period.

You may use a garage of your choice but we ask that you discuss with us first the nature of the problem with the vehicle so that we can agree and give assurance over your reimbursement. In the unlikely event of a warranty claim we will either reimburse you or the garage dealing with the repair.

The warranty covers mechanical failure only and not wear and tear to make new.

Specifically covered are mechanical failures on the engine, steering, brake system, suspension, gearbox, drive shafts.

The warranty does not cover bodywork, wiring loom, air conditioning (if fitted), seating and upholstery, glass, electrical components and instrument gauges, sound systems, tyres, exhaust systems (inc catalytic converters if fitted) brake pads, all fluids and consumables.

We will not compensate for loss of vehicle being unavailable for use.

If the repair proves to be prohibitively expensive P.R.A.Classic Cars Ltd reserve the right to purchase the car back from you providing the car is in the same condition the car was sold to you (excluding the fault).

We want you to enjoy your purchase from us and enjoy your classic car for many years to come.

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
